Engagements

How engagements run

A plain map of how Utility Maple delivers Python automation consulting for operations teams — from first call to the week after cutover.

The shape of the work

We do not sell a platform tour. An engagement is a consulting project with a beginning, a middle you can watch, and an ending where your team holds the keys.

  1. Scope call (30–45 minutes)
You describe the chain. We say whether Python automation consulting is the right move or whether a process fix should come first.
  2. Floor discovery
We sit with coordinators, collect sample files, and note the exceptions that actually wake people up.
  3. Build in the open
Scripts arrive in readable pieces. Your operations lead is the primary audience for comments and names.
  4. Parallel run
Old path and new path share a window. Cutover happens when you say the night lead is ready — not when a calendar says “ship.”
  5. Handoff & pairing
Runbook walkthrough, then two follow-up sessions inside thirty days for live exceptions.

What you prepare

Access agreements, sample exports, shift contacts, and any vendor “do not automate” rules. Surprises here cost calendar time more than money.

Where this leads

Most clients start with the operations automation engagement. If you only need eyes on existing scripts, begin with a runbook review.
